Three weeks of British music are to be featured from next Saturday as part of the Leeds Festival of Britain celebrations. The programme, describing in detail the 20 important musical events, was published to-day. It is compiled by Mr Maurice Miles, conductor of the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra, and the City Libraries staff.

The programme is free and each day’s details are accompanied by informative and interesting commentary. The Y.S.O. Is giving seven concerts in the Town Hall, including ballet, opera and Elgar’s “The Dream of Gerontius.” Under Dr Melville Cooke, the Leeds Guild of Singers is giving recitals in various churches, while there are special recitals at Leeds Parish Church and lunch-time concerts at Leeds City Museum.
