TERRITORIAL Army units in Leeds will have a big show on Woodhouse Moor at the end of this month, with the Festival Exhibition and a funfair alongside.

Woodhouse Moor looks like being a busy place from June 23, when the Royal Tank Regiment, the Royal Artillery, the R.A.S.O., the Women’s Royal Army Corps. The Royal Corps of Signals and the Army Cadet units of Leeds will all take part in a Territorial Army Exhibition partly in tents, partly in the open. It will be the Army Festival Exhibition in Leeds.

The Woodhouse Moor show will continue for a fortnight, with equipment on show and members of units standing by to explain what is to be gained in money and experience from joining the T.A.

Roundhay balloon jumps

The fortnight will begin on Saturday, June 23, when all units taking part will march past through Leeds, and the salute will be taken by Lord Scarborough.

A balloon will go up in Roundhay Park, and with it will go members of A Company 12th Parachute Battalion, T.A., who will show the public what it is like to jump from a practice balloon.
